Connecting Creative People to Creative Places

About Us

ADDICTED TO CRAFT

It might have been a long time coming, but Australia has now an online craft directory to bring the art and craft industry together in one place. The launch of the website Creative Addiction will see the art and craft community with their own forum to promote, search, advertise, share, meet and, as Helen Whitfield, the creator of the website says “connect creative people with creative places”.

The art and craft world is fragmented and it’s often hard to find all the wherewithal needed to start a new craft, get supplies or find instruction. But with the Creative Addiction website set to become the ultimate art and craft resource in Australia, creative addicts will be able to find whatever, or whoever, they need at one site.

Creative Addiction’s creator, Helen Whitfield, who herself admits to being a creative addict, is in a perfect situation to set up such a website. Until recently the owner of one of Sydney’s largest art & craft markets for 10 years, Helen also owns a ceramic and mosaic studio and for years has heard the needs of novices, craftspeople and suppliers alike. To fulfil their needs the website will help crafters find their local craft suppliers, workshops, craft events and online stores. In addition, they will find ideas and tips, a ‘how to’ section as well as interesting articles and inspiration. It will be a platform for guilds and craft groups to endorse themselves, as well as craftspeople to promote themselves and their products. The monthly kids project will be a boon to mums, teachers or childcare workers and subscribers will receive a newsletter with projects and products, a what’s on event calendar and the latest gossip in the craft world!
